Stationseiland Amsterdam is an intersection of movement. For visitors it is the first place they experience arriving in Amsterdam. For others it is part of their daily rhythm.
The movement of people and vehicles forms the base for the lighting concept.
The interplay of light under the station’s arched platform roof reflects the movement of the trains. The rhythm of the rail traffic influences the dynamics of the lighting control.
Functional lighting illuminates platforms and stairways. Intelligent control of the luminaires and appropriate, individual operating times reduce energy consumption.
