We designed the Masterplan for central-eastern and eastern HafenCity eight years after the Masterplan for western and central HafenCity.

Experiences from the western HafenCity, technical developments and increased demands for sustainability are shaping Hamburg’s major urban development projects. There are more residential and fewer office buildings in the east than in the west and there are more green spaces for leisure and recreation.

The master plan recommends the conscious and economical use of light and describes the parameters:

– Color temperature of the light
– glare limitation of the luminaires
– light distribution curves
– illuminants
– Luminaire mounting heights
