The Gasteig is Munich’s largest cultural and educational center with about 6000 visitors every day. The Philharmonie, the Volkshochschule, the College of Music and the Central Public library are in the brick building. Many people come from S-Bahn. Especially this area and the access to the forum Celibidache used to be dark, unfriendly and unpleasant for years. The new light creates a special atmosphere where you feel welcome. Spotlights illuminate the way to the columns in front of the facade. Warm white downlights illuminate low passages and form a transition from the inside to outside. LED pucks in existing handrails show you like little stars your way.
