Breda Central Station, The Netherlands

The central station in Breda is a intersection of different speeds: On the one hand, the slow people along the lobby that connects the northern and southern parts of the city and, on the other hand, the fast trains that cross the station heading east and west.

The main function of the station is to provide people with good orientation. The changing light intensities, different brightness patterns and shadows that we experience with sunlight during the day are cited by the artificial light in the evening.

In areas where there is less daylight, we support the natural light by using higher light levels and a color temperature similar to daylight. At night, warm, dimmed light creates a pleasant atmosphere.
