The two large auditoriums at the Technical University of Chemnitz in the interior of the building complex present themselves architecturally in the foyer: views of the rising building volumes overhead display a strong and lively interplay of colour and light.

The design principle followed here is to mount spots onto the massive, rough walls of the building, rather than using recessed spots. Only in the ‘light-weight’ suspended ceilings recessed luminaires are employed to emphasise the spatial quality of the architectural volume.
