The foyer of the Oldenburg State Theatre has left behind its charm of the eighties. The new lighting and interior design make the space more festive, comfortable and multifunctional.
Islands of light create purposefully aligned contrasts in the elongated space. The suspended ceiling looks tidier and less technical than before. Distributed, backlit posters alternate with clouds of light on the long wall. In the room structure, the wall creates liveliness and depth through matt-glossy wallpaper. A neon sign on the wall acts as an eye-catcher and extends the space to the outside.
The relationship between interior and exterior space offers great potential. The façade acts like a shop window so that people in the public space can perceive the liveliness and diversity that the theatre radiates.
